Iridium recently announced the availability of the new AxcessPoint which will work in tandem with your Iridium 9555 ir Iridium Extreme Satellite Phones to create a WiFi hotspot for your mobile devices.  This will still be limited to Iridium's slow satellite data speeds and will be billed by your per minute call rate.  This is great for those looking to connect their mobile devices like iPads, iPhones, Android, Windows Mobile & Blackberry devices to the internet when outside cellular service.   Iridium should be announcing some mobile application in the next month that will help with the data compression to get higher throughput speeds and there will no doubt be plenty of similar applications to follow.
