Iridium is pleased to announce that subscribers may use Iridium satellite phones & service throughout the territory of the Russian Federation.
In order for a subscriber to comply with Russian regulations for the use of Iridium mobile satellite service in the territory of the Russian Federation, online subscriber registration is necessary for all subscribers located in or traveling to Russia. The process for registration is simple, and can be completed at: www.iridium-russia.com. Note that subscribers are able to register their device for use in the territory of the Russian Federation prior to their arrival in the region.
Iridium has started to send text messages to subscriber devices within Russia at regular intervals to help inform that registration is mandatory for all subscribers located in or traveling to Russia, and that registration can be completed by subscribers at www.iridium-russia.com. Within approximately six months, service may be interrupted to subscribers who have not yet registered their devices for use in Russia. This allows the subscribers time to register their units and for Partners to develop procedures to inform subscribers on the registration requirement.
