BlueCosmo carries a variety of options for maintaining, servicing, and repairing satellite equipment for the individual owner, and corporate operations. The following Protection Plans, and Repairs are available for both satellite phones such as the Iridium 9500, 9505, 9505a, 9555, and 9575 Extreme as well as Inmarsat's IsatPhone Pro, and all Mobile Satellite Internet BGAN modems such as the Thrane & Thrane Explorer Series, Hughes units, and AddValue Terminals.

These programs are designed to assist our customers in maintaining and repairing your equipment in ways that a typical manufactures warranty does not provide, and when you're investing in a sat phone, why should you worry about paying hundreds of dollars to repair something that's not in the standard warranty? This plan provides you with all the maintenance, service, and repair that the typical manufactures warranty does not cover. This plan protects your investment by giving you repairs to physical, and internal electrical damages that usually would require you to pay hundreds of dollars on replacing parts, or taking care of all software upgrades that typically have bench fees, and providing all general mainetenance, cleanings, and 24 hour tech support. Basically you can rest at ease knowing we're here to make sure your satellite equipment does not stop from keeping you safe and in touch with the world.

The Satellite Phone and BGAN maintenance program does not cover the cost of any repairs, labor or replacement parts that might be needed for services that cover all parts, services and labor. See our Bluecosmo service warranty.

 

General Repairs and Prices

These prices are for Satellite Phone Repair only. *Call us for Mobile Satellite Internet BGAN Terminals, or any other repair that is not listed.

  • Bench test and diagnosis: $100 - Out of Warranty Repair/RMA Bench Test (includes re-flash, and cleaning
  • Level 1: $250 - Replacement of front/back housing, microphone, speaker, capacitor, keypad, or water damage cleaning
  • Level 2: $300 - Replacement of LCD, keypad board, antenna swivel socket/sensor, volume switch, SIM card reader/latch door/MMI PCB, Data port
  • Level 3: $450 - Electronic component/PCI board repair. Re-soldering of power jack, headset jack, or cSIM card readers
  • Reconditioning: $300 - Conditions your phone to like new standards and original specifications

Steps For Water Damaged Equipment

If a unit is submerged or water damaged take the battery out as quickly as possible to prevent further damage. The longer the unit sits, the more corrosion sets in, so the equipment should be sent in for treatment as soon as possible. Water Damage Treatment is not guaranteed. Water damaged equipment may also require additional parts replaced which will be quoted at that time.

Standard Repair Rates

Standard labor rates for repairs are $125 per hour, and any parts needed are added to that cost.

Out of Office Repairs

Any out of office repairs will require travel expenses, lodging, or after hours/weekend rates. *Call us for quote.

Additional Insurance

As an additional benefit there are replacement equipment options for Protection Plan customers. With this option there is an added cost on the annual price depending on the equipment owned.

There is also a deductible for the replacement of the un-repairable equipment. We also have loaner phones, and expidited repair options as well.

BGAN Repairs

For all BGAN repairs except for Protection Plan owners must call for support and estimate of repairs.*

All repair services done through BlueCosmo are done in a thorough and professional manner.
