Getting Started with Your Iridium GO! Service

Learn how to get started with your Iridium service, including how to make and receive calls using the Iridium GO! App and how to save on long distance by using two-stage dialing.

How to Insert Your SIM Card

  1. Insert your SIM card into the SIM tray located under the battery. Replace the battery and secure the battery cover.
  2. Power the unit on by flipping up the antenna.
  3. Once the device is on and connected to the network, connect your iOS or Android device to the Iridium Wi-Fi connection.
  4. Once connected to the Wi-Fi start up the Iridium GO! app on your device.

Calling your Iridium GO! Directly

To call your Iridium GO! satellite Wi-Fi hotspot, dial the international access code (011 for the US) and your Iridium phone number. Example: 011 881655555555.  Note you will be billed by your international long distance provider the rate for calling Iridium country code 881, which can be very expensive.  To save costs we recommend Two-stage dialing below.

Two-Stage Iridium Dialing Service

When direct dialing your satellite phone using the ‘8816’ phone number from a landline or cell number, calls are billed as international long distance. With two-stage dialing, you simply pay the per minute by dialing as follows: Dial +1 (480) 768-2500. When prompted, enter your Iridium Phone Number. Your Iridium phone number can be found in the Key Information section of the Activation Confirmation Notification you received when your service was activated.

Calling from the Iridium GO! App

To place a call from your Iridium GO! App to a landline or cell number, dial (+)-(Country Code) - (Area Code) - (Telephone Number). To place a call from your Iridium phone to another Iridium phone dial (+) - (Iridium Phone Number). You can place a free test call to Iridium by dialing +1-480-752-5105. Once connected, you will hear a recorded message.

Note: The dialing app will insert a '+' symbol before each number you dial. The '+' or '00' is needed when placing any outgoing calls. If you delete the '+' from the number you dial, it will not work.

US (+1) Telephone Number

If you purchased a +1 US based phone number it can be found in the Key Information section of the Activation Confirmation Notification you received when your service was activated.
